Orthokeratology (Ortho-K) Contact lenses
Orthokeratology (Ortho-K) is a specialised contact lens treatment that reshapes the cornea overnight, providing clear vision during the day without glasses or daytime contact lenses. At Rose Optometry in Berry, we offer personalised Ortho-K fitting for suitable patients, including children and teenagers who may benefit from myopia management.
We provide Ortho-K assessments and fitting in Berry for patients from Nowra, Kiama and across the Shoalhaven.
More
Ortho-K uses specially designed rigid contact lenses worn while sleeping to temporarily reshape the front surface of the eye. The lenses are removed in the morning, allowing you to see clearly during the day without glasses or contact lenses. The effect is temporary, so lenses must be worn regularly to maintain clear vision.
Ortho-K may suit people who are short-sighted and want greater freedom from daytime eyewear. For suitable children and teenagers, it can also form part of a myopia management plan to help slow the progression of short-sightedness.
At Rose Optometry, we assess your prescription, corneal shape and eye health to determine whether Ortho-K is appropriate for you. Careful lens fitting, good lens hygiene and regular follow-up appointments are essential for safe treatment.
